Nnamdi Echiemunor is a Nigerian 3D character artist and rigger who has made his mark in the animation industry by focusing on something often overlooked—authentic representation of Black hairstyles in digital art. Working primarily with Blender, Substance Painter, and Maya, Nnamdi specializes in creating tools that make animation workflows faster and more efficient. His journey into animation was sparked by James Cameron's Avatar, which inspired him to pursue a career where he could bring characters to life through detailed 3D modeling and rigging.


Nnamdi is dedicated to representing Black hair authentically in his work. Through personal projects, he's explored various Black hairstyles, from intricate braids to natural textures, ensuring that diverse hair types get the attention and technical precision they deserve. His character work, including pieces inspired by Riri Williams from the MCU, demonstrates his commitment to creating detailed, culturally accurate representations while pushing the boundaries of stylized skin shading and hair simulation.
