The branding concept is rooted in the powerful tagline “Made for Black Kings.” Abel drew inspiration from historical African royalty, exploring symbols of kingship across various African cultures. Central to this theme is the crown, a universal emblem of nobility, which Abel ingeniously incorporated into DABA’s visual language. This crown-inspired design is subtly echoed across the product’s aesthetic, creating a sense of heritage, pride, and authenticity that resonates with DABA's target audience.

Abel writes, using the tagline, "Made for Black Kings", we looked into different kings from major regions in Africa, and we picked some of their most prominent kings. Using something that all these kings have in common, which is a crown, we drew out the unique patterns, and this formed the basis of the brands visuals, used across all of DABA's brand touchpoints.

For too long, men of color have been underserved in the skincare industry. DABA seeks to fill this gap by providing products designed with an intimate understanding of their skin needs, all while championing a message of self-worth and cultural pride.
