Meet Okunade “GoodMan” Hammed, the founder of Hingees — a lifestyle brand built on the belief that simplicity and intention can elevate everyday life. What began in 2015 as a creative outlet for a young designer with a passion for storytelling and functional design has since evolved into one of Nigeria’s most beloved lifestyle brands.

Through thoughtfully crafted apparel, stationery, and accessories, Hingees speaks to changemakers — the artists, builders, and thinkers shaping the world around them. With a loyal community and collaborations that blend purpose with aesthetic, GoodMan has quietly grown Hingees into a brand that not only sells products, but inspires a way of living.

Back when GoodMan started, if you were a creative in Nigeria—or most of Africa—your options for clothes and gear were pretty rough. Imported fast fashion with zero personality. Loud, flashy knock-offs plastered with logos. Almost nothing that matched the quiet confidence and careful pride of people who love beautiful, useful things.

Hingees changed that. They didn’t just drop products and hope for the best. They actually talked to creative folks, listened, and built real relationships. If there was a conference, a hangout, or a pop-up where artists, writers, and builders were swapping ideas, odds are, Hingees was there too.

Before everyone started talking about the “creator economy,” Hingees was already part of it. And now, a decade in, they haven’t just lasted. They’ve led a movement. From cushy sweatpants to functional hoodies and then, the CREATE journal collections that somehow makes your half-baked ideas feel worth writing down. Even their leather valet trays, iWatch bands and insulated bottles carry that same ethos: simple, functional, beautiful.

While everyone else chased fast fashion and throwaway trends, Hingees doubled down on what matters—durability, intention, and local pride. They never lost sight of their Nigerian roots. They proved minimalism can have warmth, that it can belong here, and that it can inspire.

So, here’s to Hingees. Ten years of showing up and raising the bar. Because of you, Africa’s creatives have more style, better tools, and maybe a little more confidence to keep doing what they do. Happy 10th, and thanks for leading the way.
